🏆 Company Rankings — Public Holdings
One score per company, not per person: best pedigree found among its tracked leadership, whether insiders are currently buying or selling (last scanned in this browser), and whether anyone notable has recently left. This is what answers "what should I actually be looking at" — everything else on this page is the research feeding it. The tier label is the recommendation — hover any pill for the score behind it, or click a row to see the people. Adding a ticker scans it live (proxy, Form 4, 8-K) and scores it immediately from what's found — see the "provisional" note on any row where no one's been reviewed and saved yet.
Strong Candidate≥9 — strong pedigree, nothing pulling it down Worth a Look6–8.9 — solid but not exceptional, or insider data not yet scanned Neutral3–5.9 — thin signal so far, not a red flag Caution<3 — weak pedigree, net selling, and/or an unreplaced departure

🔭 Private Company Watch List
Operating companies only — investment funds and SPVs that notable people are simply partners in (e.g. Founders Fund's own funds) are filtered out below and shown separately, since "Peter Thiel is a partner at a fund" isn't the same signal as "Peter Thiel is building a company."

Methodology — How We Screen Leadership

We evaluate every company on three evidence-based pillars, sourced directly from SEC filings and public record — not opinion. This is the same framework whether the company is a current holding, a watchlist candidate, or a private company we're tracking ahead of a possible IPO.

1. Pedigree

Has this leadership team built something notable before? We flag elite schools, known VC/founder networks (e.g. PayPal Mafia, Founders Fund), prior exits, and serial founders — sourced from proxy statements and public bios.

2. Insider Conviction

For public holdings: are insiders buying or selling their own stock right now? Pulled from Form 4 filings, trailing 12 months, open-market transactions only — not routine grants or tax-withholding sales.

3. Continuity

Has a notable leader recently departed? Flagged directly from 8-K Item 5.02 filings. Recent turnover among differentiated talent is a risk signal worth a second look before adding to or holding a position.

Private/pre-IPO companies (no ticker) only get Pillar 1 — Form 4 and 8-K data don't exist until a company is public. We track them because a person with strong pedigree moving to a new venture is itself a signal worth watching ahead of any eventual listing.
🔍 Scan a Ticker for Pedigree Signals
Fetches the company's latest SEC proxy statement (DEF 14A) and keyword-scans director/officer bios for notable pedigree signals — elite schools, known VC networks, big-tech alumni, exits, honors. Free, heuristic, not AI-verified — review every result before saving.
🔗 Private Company Connections (Form D)
Every person tracked above gets searched by exact name against SEC Form D filings — the disclosure private companies file when raising money from investors — going back 3 years, looking for anyone who shows up as an Executive Officer, Director, or Promoter somewhere new. This can only surface new companies connected to people already tracked, not brand-new notable people — Form D has no bios, just names. Name collisions happen (there's more than one "Brian Armstrong"); review the company/location before trusting a match.
